Mecca is a sacred and religious city for Muslims. It is Prophet Mohammad’s birthplace. Muslims come here for their religious worships Hajj and Umrah. There are many places you can visit in the great district of Mecca. There are several places to visit because all these are sacred for Muslims because of their religious history. These places add to the religious, historical and cultural significance of Mecca and to Islam. The Mosque that is famous as Masjid Al Haram is highly illustrious and it is the largest mosque in the world. About 1.2 pilgrims can visit it. It is home of Muslim’s Holy well Zamzam.
The cubic structure is the center of Muslim’s worship. It is Kaaba and they cover it with a black Cover. The majority of Muslims come here for performing Hajj and Umrah. Jabal e Rehman or the Mount of Rahman is in Arafat Valley. At the outskirts of Mecca, Arafat Valley is about 12 miles. It is vital for all pilgrims to spend time and stay in the valley to pray for the sins forgiveness. Masjid-e-Nimra is a stunning mosque. For Muslims, it is a sacred place as per Hajj prayers and for having a religious history. As per Islamic tradition, Mount Arafat is a place where Prophet Mohammad delivered his last Sermon on his last Hajj. Prophet Adam and Hawa had met on this hill during their search for each other. It is Mount of Mercy. You will see a monument here that is the mark in their memory.
Safa and Marwa
These are two Hills in Mecca and for muslims. To walk from one mount to another seven times is the important part of Umrah. The memories of these hills belong to Hazrat Hajra. She was the wife of Prophet Ibrahim and mother of Prophet Ismail. Prophet Ibrahim left his wife and son in desert on the command of Allah. Prophet Ismail was a child at that time and he was thirsty. Hazrat Hajra ran from one hill to another in search of water. Child was bitterly crying. He rubbed his feet on the ground and a holly stream came out. Now, it is famous with the name of Zamzam.
Al-Zaher Palace Museum
It is a historical Museum that shows the history of several archaeological collection for different periods of history in Islam. Its Islamic style architecture is focal point. It was the Palace of King Abdul Aziz and he used to meet delegates here in the palace. After his death, it has been transformed into Museum. It contains 15 halls including The Holly Quran Hall, Kingdome’s Antique Hall, Pre-Islam Hall, Mecca Heritage Hall, Hajj Hall, Prophet’s Biography Hall, Islamic Civilization Exhibits Hall and others. It is one of the important places to visit for all the Muslims.
